Strategic realignment: Integration of Coachbetter into the B license
2023 marks the beginning of a groundbreaking partnership between FLVW and Coachbetter, with a focus on integrating Coachbetter into the B-License. The B-License, often considered the flagship of state associations, was redesigned this year. This redesign was made possible by the introduction of the DFB's blended learning format, an innovative mix of online and face-to-face phases.
The B-License is not only the highest license that may be awarded by the state associations, but it also represents the quality of content and the standard that the state associations strive for. Therefore, the quality of the course is the focus of this redesign.
Coachbetter plays a central role within the coach education
Coachbetter serves as a digital tool that helps coaches efficiently plan, organize, and analyze their training sessions. By integrating coachbetter, coaches can access a wide range of practices, create their own exercises, and combine them into structured training sessions. This not only promotes the quality of the training sessions, but also enables the coaches to continuously track their progress and developments.
In 2023, five courses have already been launched, with each course comprising around 25 coaches. These courses are the first step in a long-term vision to revolutionize coach education in Westphalia.
Looking ahead, there are plans to expand the partnership further in 2024. This could include integrating coachbetter into additional licensing levels, particularly the C-License and the DFB Basis Coach. This strategic approach demonstrates the FLVW's commitment and vision to continuously improve coach education through the use of digital tools and platforms such as coachbetter.
Digital companion in coach education: Coachbetter & edubreak
During their intensive coach education at FLVW, participants get access to the pro version of coachbetter. This step raises the quality of coach education to a new, innovative level. Within the digital learning platform edubreak, which has been specially adapted for coach education, two central tasks are integrated with coachbetter.
In these specific tasks, the coaches immerse themselves in the world of coachbetter and discover the diverse functions that lie behind the platform. To make the onboarding process as smooth as possible, coaches have access to customized tutorials. These tutorials not only facilitate understanding, but also promote effective use of coachbetter.
After familiarizing themselves with the platform, the coaches provide brief feedback on their first impressions and experiences. With this knowledge, they continue their journey and begin creating their first digital training session. Coachbetter serves as a constant digital companion here, guiding them through the process of creating individual soccer exercises and complete training sessions.
A key benefit of coachbetter is the sustainability of the learning. Coaches can continue to access the content and exercises learned in the course even after they have completed it. This is made possible by access to the free version of coachbetter upon completion of their coaching license.
The ultimate goal? Seamless transition
A seamless transition of the knowledge acquired in the course back to the clubs. This guarantees a steady increase in quality and progressive digitalization in the clubs around the FLVW. It is not only a revolution in coach education, but also a step towards a digitalized and high-quality soccer future in Westphalia.
