Introduction to the European Coaching Pathway: A Modern Approach to Coach Education
This course provides a flexible blend of online and in-person learning designed to build the foundations of modern coaching. You will develop your ability to plan, deliver, and reflect on sessions that support players’ technical, physical, psychological, and social development. Through online modules, live webinars, and practical workshops, you will apply your learning directly within your own coaching environment. With no formal assessment, this course offers an accessible and practical first step in your coaching development journey.
Level 2 Award
With practical modules delivered at our international partner’s location, the Level 2 Award is the next step in the European coaching pathway for coaches ready to deepen their understanding of the game and lead with confidence. This course combines online learning with in-person practical contact to strengthen your expertise in game analysis, session design, and player development. You will explore modern coaching principles and learn how to support players across all four development areas: technical, physical, psychological, and social. Guided by experienced coach educators, the program prepares you for greater team leadership responsibility and continued progression within the professional coaching pathway.

Our cohort of College coaches, Executive Directors, Directors of Coaching and Coaches in both the male and female game in the US are now connected through our pathway to continue sharing best practice and building their network. FAW Introduction to Coaching Award (Level 1). This online eLearning award provides a basic and engaging introduction to the organisation of football practices in a fun, safe environment with an emphasis on engaging with the young players of today. The award provides learners with an opportunity to discover and consider the technical and social support that we, as coaches, can provide to our players, discussing various practical aspects. These include: the importance of area size, practice transitions, progressions and regressions, as well as ensuring the learner takes a closer look at themselves, their role as a coach, and how they currently share the messages they provide players.

The European coaching pathway is delivered through a blend of in-person practical modules and live online workshops. It is designed to develop coaches across the technical, physical, psychological, and social demands of the modern game. The program strengthens your ability to plan, prepare, deliver, and reflect on coaching sessions that support long-term player development.
Courses have been designed to support the modern coach, with education consisting of online modules, distance learning, webinars and practical (in-person) contacts as well as the requirement to coach within your own coaching environment.
