Youth soccer drills: Targeted Passing and Running School
At the youth soccer level, it is very important to work on running school and technique as when we are younger we assimilate quicker. Once these habits have been learned, they are not forgotten. However, try to always incorporate the ball in your drills because they should touch it as much as possible. Here, we have a great drill that works on running technique, speed and technique with a pass at the beginning.

Activity Flow:
1. Player A passes to player B and runs diagonally across the field to starting position C, jumping over the hurdles on the way2. Player B receives the ball, passes back to the next player waiting at starting position A, and then runs through the coordination ladder towards starting position A3. Player D plays to player C and runs diagonally across the field to starting position B, jumping over the hurdles on the way4. Player C receives the ball, passes back to the next player waiting at starting position D, and then runs through the rings to starting position D
Organization:
1. Set up a rectangular field (12x24 yards)2. Place eight hurdles in the field as shown3. Place a coordination ladder and seven rings outside of the field as shown 4. Position players at each starting position in the corners of the field
Coaching points:
1. Pay attention to passing technique2. Correct execution of coordination exercises
Variations:
1. Do different coordination exercises (e.g. jumps, lateral and backwards runs, etc.)
