Former Red Bull Top Executive invests in Swiss SportTech startup coachbetter

coachbetter is expanding its renowned group of investors. With immediate effect, Markus Egger, former Red Bull Football Executive, and current Director of Sport & Strategy at Aspire Academy in Qatar, supports the vision and international expansion strategy of the most user-friendly planning & team management app in football, as an investor and strategic advisor to the team.

Markus Egger has extensive experience in building, growing, and leading ambitious ventures in the sports industry. Since 2015, he is the Director of Sport & Strategy of the Qatar based Aspire Academy, one of the leading sports academies in the development of youth athletes. Prior to his role at Aspire Academy, he was almost 10 years with Red Bull, focusing on the successful development of Red Bull-owned teams in Formula 1, NASCAR, and hockey before taking over the role as General Manager of the Football Division. In this position, he led Red Bull´s professional football clubs and academies in Brazil, Ghana, United States, Austria, and Germany where RB Leipzig was founded during Markus Egger´s tenure.

In January 2022, the team from coachbetter will travel to the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Kansas City to exhibit and represent Swiss SportTech startups and execute on its internationalization plan. The United Soccer Coaches Convention is the world’s largest event for football coaches.
