2020 is almost (thankfully) over... What a year it has been...Football in a global pandemic doesn't have the same taste. We quickly realise how important the fans are to a club but also to football when we saw a Champions League final played in an empty stadium.Although it has been a very special year, we still had the chance to enjoy very happy moments as football fans but also sadder ones that will mark this history of the sport. Here are the top 5 memorable moments of 2020 by coachbetter!

#5 Heungmin Son goal (Tottenham / Burnley)

Yes, this goal was scored on December 7th 2019 but since it won the Puskas award in 2020, we accepted it. Moreover, WHAT A GOAL! Amazing moment where Tottenham's winger take the ball from his 18 yard box and travels the whole field to score one of the most amazing solo goals ever.Obviously, we cannot forget another major protagonist (or not) of this play: Jan Vertonghen. What an assist from the Belgian to his Korean teammate. Lovely conversation from the two ex teammates.

#4 Kai Havertz and the biggest transfer of 2020

Heโ€™s here!

Welcome to Chelsea, @KaiHavertz29! ๐Ÿ”ต#HiKai ๐Ÿ‘‹โ€” Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) September 4, 2020

The most expensive transfer of 2020: $ 95 MThe young German winger is promised to a bright future. Although he has not met the expectations at the moment, Chelsea fans hope he will bring them to some hardware very soon. With a new generation led by Havertz, Zyech, Werner, Chilwell and co, Chelsea hopes to play the first roles in the Premier League.

#3 Bayern victory 8-2 against FC Barcelona

This game was the true apology of the German powerhouse, FC Bayern Munchen. It was the true domination from a team that is still at the top of their game against a tired and used generation that has done its time in FC Barcelona. The true irony and where it gets even more painful is when we see Philippe Coutinho scoring two goals at the end of the game to rub the salt in the wound. At this time, Coutinho was on loan from the Spanish club and this still under contract with them. He had been pushed out by the direction. It got very severe when he scored these two last goals (very easily) at the end of the game.

#2 Messi attempt to leave FC Barcelona

Embed from Getty ImagesThe football community was on shock late August. Indeed, Messi had just revealed that he wanted to leave the club in a free transfer. The arm wrestling then starts between Messi and the direction of the Catalan's club.On a exclusive interview to goal, Messi reveals how much this time affected him and his family. The main reason for Messi wanting to leave was the lack of quality and ambition within the team.

"I want to compete at the highest level, win titles, compete in the Champions League. You can win or lose in it, because it is very difficult, but you have to compete."

However, Messi owes too much to FC Barcelona and decided to stay this season to not hurt anyone at his favorite club. The fact that his best friend, Luis Suarez, left the club in a rough way made the situation worse between Messi and the current direction.

#1 Diego Armando Maradona

The saddest news and the most shocking of 2020. After losing a Basketball legend at the beginning of the year with Kobe Bryant, we lost a football legend at the end of the year.We will remember from Diego Maradona, someone that enjoyed his life and made the beautiful sport enjoyable. The kind of player that makes people want to go to the stadium. A genius with the ball at his feet, he gifted us plays, dribbles and moments that remain in the history books. For many, the goal he scored against England in the World Cup of 1986 in Mexico is the goal of the century. We gave our farewell to a legend, a hero for many, and a symbol of Argentina's success at the highest stage. He will be missed by all football lovers. As for us, the coachbetter teams wishes you a very happy and healthy new year! We look froward to support coaches all around the world in 2021.
